Bloomsbury Winter Bliss
I thought i’d share the joys of winter walks in our charming Sheringham paradise. Today, I'm taking you on a journey that is both invigorating for the body and soothing for the soul – a sunrise stroll that will make you appreciate the beauty of our little corner of the world.
Picture this: You wake up in the comfort of Bloomsbury House, snug as a bug in a rug. The air is crisp, and you can practically feel the excitement bubbling up within you as you prepare for a winter walk to remember. Trust me; Sheringham knows how to turn on the charm.
Heading towards the beach is always a grand idea, and don’t forget to wrap up warm. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore is hypnotic and has an instant effect of de-stressing.
Ambling along the beach, you'll notice the world waking up with you. The seagulls perform their morning symphony, as the sea reflects the first hues of sunrise. It's a magical moment where you can't help but feel one with nature, and let's not forget that delightful crunch of sand beneath your boots.
Now, if you're lucky enough to have a four-legged friend, their enthusiasm will infect you. It’s our little Maude’s favourite place in the world. She loves to chase the waves and the seagulls. We find a dogs joy is contagious, you're not just taking a walk; you're experiencing a canine-powered winter wonderland adventure.
Some days we prefer the shelter of the trees, Sheringham's woods offer a different kind of enchantment. A frost-kissed carpet of leaves and pine needles cushions your path; my romantic notion, in reality always best to wear sturdy footwear as it can be a little muddy at this time of year, but so very worth it.
As the sun starts its ascent, the trees look amazing, the inspiration for many of my paintings. Observing the morning light filters through the bare branches, casting long shadows on the ground. It's like walking through a natural art gallery where every step unveils a new exhibit.
Our Maude loves this walk too, lots of great sniffing from all the scents left behind by the nocturnal creatures, it turns it into an exciting for her.
As the day wakes up and it’s time to return to Bloomsbury House, into the warmth and a hot cuppa, you will realise pretty soon that you feel energised for the rest of the day.
So, whether you choose the beach or the woods, with a dog or without, one thing is for sure – a winter walk in Sheringham is more than just a stroll; it's a journey of the heart and a treat for the soul. Until next time, keep exploring, keep smiling, and keep making memories in our little winter wonderland. Cheers to the beauty of Sheringham!
